What is dark theme?
Well, as the name is applied, it’s a colour theme that utilises dark colours. What does it bring to the user experience? Well, most people prefer a dark theme over a light theme. In fact, you’re probably using a dark theme on a platform as of right now! This may be because it’s less straining on the eyes when staring at your screen later on in the day. It’s also useful to prolong battery life as white uses up more power compared to black. Think of that when you next use your laptop or mobile device!
Here is a UI from a game on Roblox called “Club Iris”. As you can see, although the white creates a contract between the dark background, it’s straining to the eyes. Compared to the dark theme Interface below the white is a little too distracting which could take away from the game experience.
